About

Artist Bente Elisabeth.
I was born and raised in the fantastic nature of Northern Norway, then lived several years in Greenland.
Now I have my base in Denmark, by National park Mols Bjerge, where the heaven is high and we are walking on old cultural land. Here we can feel the power of nature.

I am a painter

I paint what I see, what I feel, what I sense.
Impressions of nature,
The five elements;
Earth,
Fire,
Air,
Water and
Cosmos.

Oneness. Everything is part of the wholeness,
Parts of the cosmos
that we can hardly imagine

“On the green hills with beautiful view of Egens and Kalø Vig she lives. She has a Gallery and Studio on the first floor overlooking the fields. Given she was born in Norwegian and lived several years in Greenland, nature has always been of utmost importance for her. At Mols there is also beautiful landscape and ancient cultures to trace in the landscape. Nature’s change, life, movements and, last but not least, colours is seen from the large windows of the studio. She paints the impression and the sensations she gets in nature, and you can almost feel the wind and the heat of the sun in the works. The paintings lash on the edge between the abstract and naturalistic, and are inspired by natural impressions and the interaction between the four basic elements: soil, water, fire and air, and so the fifth: the cosmos, both in large and small.
She finds the inner peace needed to create in the moment and open up the impressions that come. Her sketches act as inspiration and a way to remember sense impressions, because it’s the sensory impressions that are important, not what she sees. “When I walk in nature, whether in Northern Norway or in Mols Mountains, it’s nice to feel the cohesion with nature and the experience of being in the elements.”
